PERRY CAVE and SARAH ELIZABETH BAUMGARDNER FamilyOur Perry CAVE (born 7 March 1842 in Champaign OH) and Sarah Elizabeth (born 24 February 1847 in Summit county OH) were married in Whitley county IN. on 13 October 1867. They lived near Collamer, Koscuisko county, IN. This is in the very southeast corner of the county next to Whitley county. We need more research done to find out about the family while living in Indiana. The 1870 Census shows them living in Jackson township. June 6, 1870. Perry is listed as a farmer with personal value of $250.00 They show two daughters, Myrtle age 1, and Amanda E. 7 months. Perry and Sarah are listed at age 28.We don’t have much information except that Perry became a Mason while in Indiana. He remained a Mason 58 years. He planted sorghum cane, in the fall they would make molasses and sold most of it. The kids would stay home from school when it was molasses time to help with the crop. Orchards of all kinds of fruit were on the farm; and they would sell extra fruit and cider. Denver Plumbers . Grandpa always had homemade wine on his table. They kept bees and made their own honey too Neighbors would take the older children to work on their farms and in homes; they worked for room and board and new clothes and shoes each fall for school. Grandpa Cave died of gangrene of his feet caused from Diabetes —-
