Genealogy is fun

A story that has been passed down orally on our branch was that:Sallie was white, tall, heavy set, with striking red hair. My great grandmother and her brother were dark haired taking after their father, James Shackleford who it is told was not mulatto as the census listed, but in fact was full blooded Cherokee. While this oral history has not been substantiated with documentation as yet (I am still researching) there are prominate Native American phenotypes on our direct decent line from Sallie and James.
