David Calvin Jenkins Sr.March 10, 1888 – April 3, 1956.Rev. John Jenkins also had a son named David Calvin Jenkins Sr. David was born on March 10,1888 in Luray, Virginia. He migrated to Cleveland, Ohio around 1910. While in Cleveland, David Sr. worked in an ice house where he lost his left arm in 1911, when he was 21 yrs. old. Shortly after that accident, he met and married Laura Ann Minor from Greenfield, Ohio.Laura Ann Minor was born on March 15, 1889. Her parents were Isaac A. Minor and Minnie M. Manns. David and Laura moved to McKeesport, Pa. between 1911 and 1913. David and Laura moved their family to Liberty Boro, Pa. in 1928, where Ruth Marie Jenkins was born. The family moved back to McKeesport, Pa. in 1929, where they lived in Brick Alley. David worked as an engineer for the Bowman Brothers from around 1913 to 1930. He later worked as a fireman (firing boilers) and engineer for the McKeesport Ice Company around 1931. From 1943 until he died in 1947 David worked as a laborer at Carnegie Illinois Steel Company in Duquesne,Pa.David and Laura had 12 children, all born and raised in McKeesport, Pa. The family has remained in large numbers in McKeesport, Pa and its outlying areas.David Calvin Jenkins Sr. died on March 13,1947 at 120 9th. wi child support law . Street in McKeesport, Pa. at 12:01 A.M. He was buried in McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery on March 17, 1947. limo service . Laura Ann Minor died at 120 9th. Street at 8:50 P.M. on April 3,1956, in McKeesport, Pa. She was buried at the McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery on April 6, 1956.
