Jenkins BassettApril 19, 1920 – March 31, 1993Minnie Frances Jenkins Bassett was born to David and Laura Jenkins onApril 19, 1920 in McKeesport, PA where she met and married Roscoe D.Bassett, Sr. From this union were born four (4) daughters andthree(3)sons: Laura Y. Robinson, Pricilla A. Roker, Debbie L. Pheromones . Deas, Roscoe D.Bassett, Jr. Denver Roofing . (deceased), David A. Bassett, Sr. Catherine C. SimmersandPleamon O. Bassett.Minnie dedicated her life to the caring of others. A strong willedandcommitted person she raised seven children of her own, butitdidn’tstopthere. She went on to help raise some of her grandchildren.Sheworriedabout everyone, but never wanted anyone to worry about her.Minnie F. Jenkins received God as her personal savior, early inlife,atBethlehem Baptist Church, McKeesport, PA. She renewedhermembershiptwoyears ago.During her lifetime she had mor ethan one career. Her firstcareerwas:waitress. For many years she worked in the best night-clubsinPhillyaswell as restaurants and was called “Reds” by many of the peoplesheknewand served.Minnie’s second career: housekeeper for the Conston family, until herretirement. Relationships developed from this positionwereverywarmandcaring, allowing MInnie to consider the Constons her extendedfamilyforthe remainder of her life.She leaves to remember her love and caring: six (6) children; three(3)brothers, Roy, Carl, and Earl; one (1) Florence E. Gardner;twenty-fivegrandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren; three (3) sons-in-law,Clarence Robinson, Mickey Roker and Ronald Simmers; and ahostofnieces,nephews, the Conston Family and many dear friends.
